The Abduction from Seraglio Print Design

“The Abduction from the Seraglio” is one of the 22 operas composed by Mozart.  In 2006, the State Opera of Thessaloniki presented the opera through a children’s marionette play.

Zefxis was responsible for all printed material related to the event. We designed the show's programme, posters, street banners, a building-long hanging poster, advertising flyers, and various magazine illustrations.

The design approach that we used was entirely different from anything we had done before. We decided to make this a unique design project and we worked with cartoon-style artistry and intense colours combined in a novel style. This would make it attractive and inviting to both young and old alike.

The end result of the project was truly outstanding and surpassed everyone’s expectations. We received excellent comments from the public attending the show, as well as professional artists.

We collaborated with the State Opera again, a year later, when we worked on the print design of "The Bat" operetta.
