Opinions Website Design

Opinions is one of the biggest retailers of athletic and fashion shoes in Greece. It is the official distributor of well-known brands such as Hush Puppies, Roberto Venuti, Dona Karan, Calvin Klein, Shy and others.

Zefxis formed a steady and ongoing collaboration with Opinions in late 2008. We were asked to design a total of three websites for the company in order to target the markets of Greece, Romania and Bulgaria respectively. Each of the sites contains hundreds of products and is presented in two languages. Additionally, an ‘umbrella’ website was also created, acting as a redirector to the websites of the different countries.

As for all of our productions, usability and functionality were of paramount importance.  A variety of techniques were applied to achieve the best possible organisation and presentation of the content, allowing the visitor to navigate through the site quickly and without hindrance. 

Describing wearable items to a potential customer who is unable to touch them or try them on, means that the weight must be placed on crystal clear visual representation. We used a spacious and clean design style for the website in order to draw attention to the high-quality product photographs.

Some products are enhanced with innovative technologies for i.e. better cushioning and heel support, and we were keen to highlight those on the website. We integrated a 3D interactive application which presents those innovations in an impressive way.

Opinions opted to have full control over their sites’ updates and this was easily achieved by using our in-house Genesis CMS. As a result, each version of the website for its respective country is fully manageable by the people at Opinions.

Lastly, on par with the design of the websites, we have applied a dynamic marketing and Search Engine Optimisation strategy, which brought impressive results in the first months of the sites going live.
